According to a recent leak, Assassin’s Creed Mirage might be bringing back another iconic element initially seen in Assassin’s Creed 1. There is a tab for something called “Investigation” thanks to a leak showing off a portion of the game’s menu, which is probably the one where we’ll see items like the map, inventory, and more. If the Mirage version of that feature is even remotely related to the one from the original Assassin’s Creed game, it may be an encouraging hint that Ubisoft intends to bring back the original Assassin’s Creed gameplay in this new title.

A leak from Assassin’s Creed Mirage suggests the return of beloved feature
The leak in question comes from YouTuber j0nathan, who posted a picture on social media purportedly displaying a menu item from the game. The UI displays “Investigation,” “Inventory,” and “Tools,” with the first of them receiving the most attention so far.
What’s so special about “Investigations” in Mirage, then? Players may remember from the first Assassin’s Creed that they had to take specific steps to gather information about a target before they could assassinate the person of interest. Since players had to do a little more work and be on the ground and in the crowd rather than just rushing into a camp, killing a target, and running, these investigations were carried out using techniques like pickpocketing and listening in on conversations.
If the “Investigations” page is another indication that Mirage is trying to get back to its roots by emphasizing elements like stealth gameplay and other characteristics that made the original games so intriguing, that’s fantastic news for Mirage fans. However, if it receives enough attention to merit its own tab in the menu, it may well be immersive enough to appeal to fans of the previous Assassin’s Creed formula. Of course, this game could always offer its own unique take on the feature that may not be exactly as it was in the previous games.
