E3, formerly referred to as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, once dominated the video gaming industry. Because to the fact that developers would unveil new games and even systems there, it was the event that players all around the world anticipated. Yet according to recent reports, many of the top developers withdrew, and E3 2023 has been canceled. t was only revealed to employees this afternoon that E3 had been cancelled because it “could not gather the continuous enthusiasm” it needed for the event. Nothing is said about how this will impact upcoming events; just that E3 2023 was not gaining enough attention. It’s unclear if that came from fans or developers, but E3 quickly tweeted to corroborate the information.

E3 2023 has been officially canceled

Since many of the major developers who made E3 such an exciting show in the past withdrew, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding whether or not E3 2023 could go on and now it’s canceled. Most recently, Ubisoft announced that it would no longer be attending the expo three days ago. The fact that the email was issued to members and then promptly leaked to IGN looks to have been the expo’s death knell this year. If E3 truly is doomed as a result of this, it will mark the end of an era in gaming culture.
