Players of Overwatch 2 discovered this week that they would receive a free One-Punch Man crossover skin when the event began in March, but at the time, we were unsure of what that skin would be. By releasing a new skin for Soldier: 76 on Friday, Blizzard provided an answer to that query. This skin transforms Soldier: 76 into Mumen Rider, a hero who travels the world on a bicycle and is a dependable companion of Saitama, the One-Punch man. Players of Overwatch 2 will only be able to receive Soldier: 76’s legendary skin for free during the event if they successfully complete all of its related challenges.

Overwatch 2 has revealed free One-Punch Man Skin

The Overwatch 2 Twitter account posted our first sneak peek of the Mumen Rider skin for Soldier: 76 on Twitter as a preview of what Season 3 will bring. The Overwatch hero is now dressed as Mumen Rider, complete with his trademark green headgear and the iconic visor Soldier: 76 often wears. These hurdles, which we do not yet know about, hopefully won’t be too difficult this time. Some players thought the challenges for the Battle for Olympus event were a little bit too demanding. But Blizzard acknowledged that some challenges were too difficult in its end-of-season recap for Season 2. Consequently, perhaps that will be taken into consideration for whatever is planned for this March event.

While the Doomfist skin that transforms him into Saitama and the other cosmetics that are a part of the One-Punch Man event are free for players who accomplish the tasks, those skins are store skins. Overwatch 2’s One-Punch Man crossover is the first of its type. But what about upcoming collaborations? Although Blizzard said it is uncertain how frequently this may occur, it is not currently scheduled for Season 4. The success of this collaboration will determine how the Overwatch 2 team tackles future collaborations. But the developers emphasized that they are adopting a “cosplay” approach to this kind of thing in order to maintain the appearance and feel of the heroes who wear these skins.
