Redfall will include a contentious feature, according to Bethesda and the game’s creator Arkane Studios, who announced this ahead of the game’s May release on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Redfall may be played alone or online with buddies, as you may know. Despite the fact that you may play the game alone, you will want a continual online connection to do so. Because your power went out, your internet is slow, or you don’t have any internet at all, you don’t have an online connection.

Redfall has the staying online requirement

We don’t know why Redfall needs a constant online connection. Arkane Studios and Bethesda have just stated that it does; they have not provided a reason. Although it is not the first single-player game to require an online connection, it is unusual since why would you want it to be? However, Bethesda has recently been one of the businesses implementing this. You may be aware that it accomplished the same feat with DOOM Eternal.

Game preservation is another another drawback of this. If Arkane doesn’t make changes to this after launch, Redfall won’t work when the servers shut down or if we are not online. When you purchase a single-player game, you typically anticipate being able to play it provided you have the necessary hardware. However, unless this game becomes a huge hit, it will become unplayable in a few years. Even if it becomes a huge hit, this will only postpone the inevitable—that is, the day when no one will be able to play it.

On May 1, 2023, Redfall will be made available globally on PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. When it becomes out, it will cost $69.99 to buy normally as a single item or it will be playable with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. You may read the game’s official plot summary below:

“The island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the citizens off from the outside world. Explore the open world and immerse yourself in a deep story campaign as you unravel the mystery behind the vampires’ appearance. Ally with a handful of survivors against the creatures threatening to bleed the town dry.” Besides the Redfall online requirement, we have more articles for you.
