Bandai Namco has shared a lot of details regarding Tekken 8 over the past few hours, including new gameplay elements like the Rage system. The major news of the day is the announcement of a Tekken 8 Closed Alpha Test, though. It appears Bandai Namco will conduct the tests “in selected areas throughout the world to receive feedbacks of the battle system,” so fans hoping for an online test are out of luck.
Tekken 8 Closed Alpha and Nina have been revealed already
EVO Japan 2023, which runs from March 31 to April 2nd, will host the first of these. Registration for the Tekken 7 tournament and an application “through a special website to be opened in February” are prerequisites. If there are enough candidates, there will be a raffle. Along with the information of the Closed Alpha Test, Bandai Namco also disclosed that Nina Williams would be making a comeback in Tekken 8. The character was highlighted in a trailer, which is embedded below.
Naturally, the Closed Alpha Test has disappointed a number of followers on social media. Many people had hoped that Bandai Namco will open it up to everyone. Or at the very least to a larger pool of gamers. Though an online test might be revealed later on, limiting these testing to in-person events makes it far more difficult for people to take part. Although no release date has been specified as of this writing, some people have even speculated that this would indicate that Tekken 8 won’t be available until next year.
The next game in the popular fighting game series is definitely Tekken 8. Tekken 8, will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The original Tekken game debuted in arcades in 1994. The original PlayStation was the first home platform to offer it in 1995. Given that, it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility that fans may have to wait until 2024 for the release of Tekken 8, which would coincide with the franchise’s 30th anniversary. We’ll just have to wait and see since, of course, any release window could vary dependent on fan input. Besides Tekken 8 Closed Alpha and Nina, we have more articles for you.
