The ability to buy all 46 titles from the Xbox 360’s digital marketplace will soon be lost for those still using the system from Microsoft. Although it might not seem like it, the Xbox 360 was first introduced back in 2005. Microsoft has since introduced several additional Xbox systems, most notably the Xbox One and Xbox Series X. And while some enthusiasts could still occasionally use their Xbox 360s, Microsoft is already starting to remove some well-known games off the vintage hardware.
Xbox360 players are losing a lot games soon
Microsoft recently revealed that it will remove a total of 46 games from the Xbox 360 shop later this week on February 7. Microsoft did not provide an explanation for these withdrawals, although some of the most well-known series that will be effected by them include Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Mass Effect, and Dark Souls. The Xbox 360 versions of these games will continue to be downloaded indefinitely if you already possess them digitally, however new purchases of these games are no longer permitted.
It’s important to note that the titles in question that are being pulled from Xbox 360 will still be available on all of the aforementioned platforms if you happen to own an Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S machine. Therefore, if you happen to own an Xbox that was released inside the last ten years, this delisting problem probably won’t bother you. Even still, it’s intriguing to note that Microsoft is now starting to shut down the Xbox 360, a trend that will only intensify over time.
