Today, the game developer Game Freak, well renowned for its work on the Pokemon series, unveiled a brand-new action-adventure title named Project Bloom, that is still in the early phases of production. The mainline Pokemon series and its many spin-offs have largely formed the basis of Game Freak’s output over the years. Although the Japanese firm has occasionally worked on other projects, it appears that this new game will be significantly more extensive than usual.

Pokemon dev Game Freak unveiled the Project Bloom
The Take-Two Interactive subsidiary, Private Division, said today that it is collaborating with Game Freak on a game that is now known as Project Bloom. Although there are few details available at this time, Project Bloom is rumored to be an action-adventure game with a completely original IP. The only comprehensive examination of Project Bloom to date has been provided in the form of concept art.
Game Freak director Kota Furushima said, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to create new IP that is bold and tonally different from our prior work. From the beginning, Private Division was the publisher we wanted to work with on our new game. Their track record and global expertise give us all the confidence to create a sweeping new action-adventure game that we can’t wait to share more about in the future.”
Both the precise release date and the platforms on which Project Bloom will be available are unknown at this time. The game should debut between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026. This is according to Private Division’s general statements that it will be released during Take-Two’s 2026 fiscal year. Most likely, within the next year or two, we’ll start to hear a lot more about Project Bloom.
