The most recent publishers to confirm they won’t be attending E3 2023 are Sega and Tencent. E3 has long been compared to Christmas for gamers. But even then, businesses like PlayStation and EA continued to host events around E3, giving the impression that everything was coordinated.
Sega and Tencent announced that they are skipping E3 2023
The ESA is collaborating with ReedPop to improve the show, so E3 2023 was supposed to mark a triumphant comeback to the program we once adored. Yet it appears to be breaking down. Sega and Tencent also stated to IGN that they would not be attending E3 2023. Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and most recently, Ubisoft were already skipping the event. Other publishers are anticipated to miss the show, according to a report from IGN. But they haven’t yet made a formal declaration. The story also cites individuals who allege that ReedPop and the ESA haven’t been very organized or communicative about planning E3 2023. Geoff Keighley’s Play Days appear to be where more reporters will get a chance to play games this year, however it’s not clear if there are any plans to eventually make those events open to the general public.
